Great Books for a Tough World

In this session, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on “book tasting” to discover various titles, from picture books to YA novels, that may be relevant and important to their students dealing with various traumas. Discover new books that are available to you through classroom library sharing and our own DCS media centers; share the books that have reached your own students despite their personal struggles; build your own want-to-read list; and connect with like-minded educators who believe in the power of building empathy and understanding through reading.
