I didn’t know Desmos could do that!

With the graphing program Desmos now embedded in NC Math exams, this session seeks to broaden the perspective of participants as to the utility of the software. This session will give educators "trick and tips" to use in the classroom now, as well as an introduction to the power of using lists, and sliders as they apply to statistics, sequences, and graphs. Participants will actively work with the program during the session, and will have access to all shared files. Bring a computer to this session.

No Red Ink Know-Hows

DCS has invested in Premium access to No Red Ink for grammar and writing instruction. Last year's usage data indicated that few teachers are utilizing this tool to its fullest potential. This session will feature: 1. How to use NRI mastery data to inform instruction and prepare students for the ACT. 2. How to utilize the Pathways feature to reach grade-level goals. 3. How to engage students in the writing process with interactive guided drafts, self-assessments, and peer reviews. Bring a computer to this session.
