Exit polls in the 2018 midterm suggested that only 1 in 3 young Americans voted. Lack of civic engagement is a danger to our democracy. The good news is, humanities teachers can change this! Participants will examine a series of issues that have resulted in voter apathy among younger Americans. Participants will be provided with unit and lesson plans that are intended to inspire students to develop a passion for preserving our democratic institutions by becoming active and engaged citizens. Bring a computer to this session.
